Psychological Evaluation:
Psychological evaluations are designed to identify the cause of symptoms, determine correct diagnosis, and the proper course of treatment. When an individual is having emotional, behavioral, or social problems, it may be due to a stressor, family or environmental issues, or a psychological disorder, such as Anxiety, Depression, PTSD or another mood disorder.
Psychological tests are utilized to help identify the presence and severity of a range of symptoms and their fit with the diagnostic criteria of various psychological conditions. Psychological testing is particularly helpful in differentiating between similar diagnoses or determining the presence of comorbid (multiple) diagnoses. Psychological testing is used with adults and children. After testing is completed results are discussed and you will be provided with a comprehensive explanation of the results and recommendations during a feedback session. A written report is also available upon request.

Evaluations commonly include an assessment of attention, executive functioning, social/emotional functioning as well as cognitive ability and brief screenings of academic skills as necessary. Once testing is completed results are discussed and you will be provided with a comprehensive explanation of the results and recommendations during a feedback session. You will also receive a full written report. Upon request, I will also consult with school personnel and will participate in school meetings.

Cognitive ability/IQ testing is often required to be considered for private school admission. Testing often includes administration of the WPPSI-IV, WISC-V, or WAIS-IV. IQ testing can identify an individual’s strengths and weaknesses that influence learning and academic performance. Following the testing a comprehensive verbal explanation of the results will be provided. A written report will be mailed to the parent and school, upon request.
