Dr. Davis' specialty in serving athletes experiencing mental health challenges is rooted in her longstanding passion for addressing the needs of underserved populations; as athletes are not exempt from mental health challenges but have been less likely to seek help.

Her value of individual differences and cultural diversity has influenced her use of an integrative theoretical approach which allows her to honor and tailor services to the unique concerns and needs of each person.
Her research and professional presentations reflect her longstanding dedication to serving diverse communities, including her work examining the experiences of African American male athletes and her contributions to community coalitions and educational programs addressing trauma, mental health access, and youth development
