Kimberley Desir, PsyD
Dr. Desir is a licensed clinical psychologist in Pennsylvania. She views therapy as a team effort—working together to figure out what helps you feel grounded, grow, and handle life’s curveballs a little easier. Her therapeutic style is warm, honest, and down-to-earth, fostering a professional yet approachable space where authentic connection and trust can develop. Her approach is integrative, grounded in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). She incorporates both practical skill-building and thoughtful exploration of underlying patterns, allowing you to address current concerns while gaining insight into the deeper factors shaping your experience. She values honoring the unique context of your background, identity, and goals. Dr. Desir’s clinical experience spans community mental health, inpatient psychiatric facilities, university counseling centers, and outpatient settings. Her areas of clinical focus include stress and anxiety management, marginalized and intersecting identities, and relationship and attachment-related concerns. She is passionate about cultural competency in clinicians and increasing awareness of the impact of cultural practices and racial identity on health behaviors. Outside of clinical work, Dr. Desir is a qualitative researcher with over 10 years of research experience. She has collaborated with community organizations engaging marginalized LGBTQ+ youth connecting them to social services and resources through research. Dr. Desir has previous and current adjunct teaching appointments with Temple University and Pepperdine University.
Dr. Desir earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She also holds a Masters in Clinical and Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Child & Adolescent Therapy from Chestnut Hill College. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys kickboxing, traveling, crafting and home décor.
